TGIF & Tunes

Spring semester has finally come to a close and after breathing a sigh of relief from passing my courses, I thought I would post a blog! So much has been going on that I'm not sure if a three week break before Summer semester will be enough (I'm finally going to cash in on that massage my sister got me for Christmas-thank you Jennifer!). So what exactly has been going on? Nothing too much worth noting, went to an NBA basketball game with my deserving husband (it was his birthday/valentine's day gift). I got to sit in the same arena with Lil Wayne ;) I've been crafting little projects here and there, currently I'm working on some projects that involve pallets-and Matthew is going to kill me if I don't stop piling them up in our little apartment. With it being Friday, I thought I would provide some of my current favorite tunes. Enjoy! I hope to be posting more soon, I've been brainstorming this week :) TGIF

P.S. If you aren't already, follow Anna Hodge's blog www.fashboulevard.blogspot.com She is hosting a great give away, and if you didn't know she has been chosen to be the guest blogger for laurenconrad.com for 3 months (jealous!!):) Follow Anna and enter in her give away.

Yes I finally like a Biebs song ;)

Random Saturday

This morning, after doing a little cleaning, I decided to kick back and search my On Demand. You'll never guess what I found on "Vintage MTV"....ummm The Hills!!! My Saturday has been made! :)

While enjoying Season 3 of the Hills, I was comparing my life (or wanna be life maybe) to Lauren, Lo's and Audrina. What girl hasn't? I discovered that even though I thought I was most like LC...I am most definitely more like LO, and my BFF is comparible to LC. I was a little saddened as this, but then realized...I can be "friends" with LC lol

Hope everyone else is having a wonderful, sunny Saturday! I'm about to hit the trails with my version of LC :)

Resolutions...

New Years always has everyone excited to lose weight for the year. Trust me I've done it myself for several years now and it is disappointing when you "fail" that resolution. So I've decided instead to put less pressure on myself and just focus on living a healthy lifestyle, which includes what I eat and exercising.
Recently, I've found out that I have a condition known as IBS. And for those that know what is is, it can be extremely miserable. Fortunately, I've had some help from a physician and a book that has guided me to eating right for IBS. The bonus for this is that I have lost some pounds while changing my diet, and the constant bloat I experienced all the time as dwindled as well. Now, adding some gym time to this will help me to keep my healthy lifestyle active and boost my self-confidence (an ongoing resolution for me). Now I know I said I wouldn't do resolutions this year, but these aren't necessarily just that. So just what are a few things I want to work on this year?

1. Be better at organizing (home & office)
2. Build up my GPA (summer is my last semester! yay)
3. Start look into my professional career
4. Build up our savings account (future home)

So whatever you have written down for your resolutions, good luck to you and remember that in order for it happen, you have to make a daily effort. I've listed some perseverance quotes below, for myself, and for you to get through your goals for the New Year. xoxo~

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs.  Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger.  If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.  ~Dale Carnegie

Cheers to the New Year

2012 is fast approaching and everyone is trying to find that perfect party dress for the occasion (or the perfect set of pjs if you're planning on celebrating at home). Usually I go for a black ensemble and add a little sparkle to it. This year I'll be braving Gold, and that's a big step for me because I've never been one to wear it. I decided to see if anyone else was considering putting together a similar piece and this is what my Google search found:

#dresses high on glitter

New Years is always about glitter and fun! But it's also about everyone setting new goals to achieve for the new year, or restating ones from the past. This year, my friend Kimberly and I have decided that we will "let go" for 2012.
Instead of making new goals for the year, Kimberly and I are going to write down our worries and fears on balloons. Then we are going to  release them into the air, symbolising our step in moving forward and "letting go" of what keeps us down in life. I'll be posting pictures of our little release and maybe it will motivate you to "stop worrying about your weight" instead of making a goal each year to lose weight (just an example). Each new year gives us a chance to grow and become better individuals.
What are you plans and goals for the 2012?

Thankfuls

Can't believe it's already time for Thanksgiving. I enjoy this time of year to spend with family and eat lots of food! I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday, and remember to be thankful for what you have because you never know when it may be gone. xoxo~

Obessions:

Feathers!!!!! If you know me, I have a slight (ok, major) obession with feathers. I can't help it. I'm being a peacock for halloween, I wear feather earrings, feather hair clips, and feather necklaces. Currently I am researching ideas for a feather inspired christmas tree (but I am not going overboard with it). (psst, I even want a small feather tattoo on my wrist or foot-but that would be cause for my husband to divorce me). So, here are a few of my favorite feather photos. What are your thoughts on feathers: love or hate? And what is your favorite way to wear feathers? xoxo~
