Nailed It

Polished nails have always been in, but they're coming back with a splash-of color. I was never one to color my nails, it was either a classy french or clear coat. Slowly, I have come around to adding some color to my fingers and I'm having a lot of fun with it; however, I have to keep it professional working in a professional environment. So how can you stay in style without going over the top?? Here are a few of my favorite colors and a few little designs I find suitable for the office.
What are your favorites?

peachy I have been on the hunt for this color, it's great for spring and summer

Instead of a traditional clear and white manicure, try colors in the same hue family.

Pretty nail polishTry a suttle design on one nail, instead of all of your nails. Keep it simple, I like the tiny polka dots on the ring finger here
Matte Nail PolishMatte nails are my new favorite polish. I've been searching for a color that I really like (so far, purple has made my list).

And if you must have fun nails, save it for the weekend; besides, a couple of days is about as long as they need to last anyway ;) Here are a few I would like to try:

I've been taking pictures each morning of my work attire (please disregard the closet scenery). This is just from a few days this week.
Sweater: thrifted $9.00
Floral tank: TJ Maxx $14.99
Dress Pants: Gap (on sale) $30
Heels: Kohl's (clearance) $10
Lace Blazer: Forever 21 $24.99
Floral blouse: Kohl's $15.99
Pants: TJ Maxx $14.99
Heels: same as above (the best $10 I've spent)

Jacket: LC Lauren Conrad (at Kohl's) $40 {splurge}
Dress Pants: TJ Maxx $14.99
Heels: same as above (I'm a repeater, love these babies!)

Now I don't have a closet that will allow for me to wear a different outfit every day, I unforuntatel do not have the funds for it. But I am playing and mixing up with what I have. I hope to have some more cute stuff in the next week. :) Happy Weekend ~xoxo

Reality Check: Health Edition

In watching recent news, I heard of one of my favorite reality stars/hosts had been diagnosed with breast cancer: Giuliana Ranic
What a shock! To be only 36 and have early stages of breast cancer, but Giuliana is an extraordinarly strong person and is handling it well.

It had me thinking about our health though. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month; and even though the month is about to be over in a week, we should be active about our health.

We stress more about how we look on the outside, instead of focusing on what is going on inside of our bodies (myself included). That's partially to blame on media, but thankfully the media has become extremely active in promoting the health of our inside as well. To me, the more healthy you are on the inside will show on the outside.

So how do you take care of your inside? First, go see a doctor and schedule some tests to make sure all is well (especially depending on your family history). Next, start exercising and eating right because not only will it just make you feel better you will naturally start to like your physical appearance as well (win win!!). Love yourself and your body will love you back. And lots of prayers sent to Giuliana and        family as she overcomes this battle!

Embrace the Dress Code

So you thought that after leaving high school, you'd leave that rule they called a dress code behind right??? Well maybe during your college years. Now you've entered a part of your life that consumes your time 8 hours a day, just like high school. And guess what-it involves a dress code (of some sort) too! I have to admit that I'm the dork that couldn't wait to wear businss suits and be professional. But there are some of us who don't appreciate the suit and would rather opt for something more comfortable. I'll be the first to say that I LOVE dress pants. They are flattering on any woman (if fitted properly) and you can make them go with almost anything (almost!). So for those of you who work for the companies that are particular about your appearance, I've put together some ideas below. I love anything from GAP, Banana Republic, Express, and New York & Co. However, when you're on a budget you can't afford those name brands. What do you do? You use those for inspiration and hunt elsewhere (I usually end up hitting the jackpot at places such as Cato's, Ross, TJ Maxx, Maurices, and Belk) I've posted some pics to give you inspiration for your Professional Wardrobe. Give me your feedback and what you wear to work-I'd love to hear/see it! xoxo~
